The Inner Hardware of Your Computer

By: Ian D Wright

The computer has pieces that you won't use as often as the monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Do you recall the box that you stored the cds for you to use? This is known as the Central Processing Unit (CPU). This is truly the heart of the computer. It contains all of the important parts that operate everything you do.
Inside the CPU you can see numerous parts when you open it. Lots of different components play a part in making your desktop function, and you should learn about them all.
The computer's processor is a vital part of the computer. This part gives the computer power and handles all of the calculations. Processors are characterized by their brands and their speeds. The speed relates to computer performance - the faster the better is the golden rule. By way of example, those computers whose processors are fast can run more than one task at a time and can open pages and programs much more quickly than can computers with slow processors.
The hard drive is one more vital part. Your files, music, photos, and other data will all be stored here. The hard drive is known by the gigabytes it contains. If you go with a higher number of gigabytes, then you will have higher levels of storage capacity. You can store more files on your computer as its storage capacity goes up. You will find that most hard drives are sectioned into a few parts. People are frequently loyal to programs and operating systems such as Windows and Office. For the files other partitions are provided.
Random Access Memory, or RAM, serves as the short term memory bank of a computer. There is a thing where you can open many things at once and it will still not mess your system up. If you want to have multiple things open you have to have a big memory. It is defined through gigabytes like the hard drive.
Image quality depends on the computer's graphics memory card. The colors will be better when you use a higher-gigabyte graphics card. Your picture will be clearer and less pixelized. When computers have graphic computer games installed or when the owner frequently deals with photos, graphics cards with high memory are often used.
Modem is another important part of the CPU. This the thing which connects you to internet. Computer modems can be external or installed directly into the motherboard.
