Columbus, Ohio is well known in North America as the capital of technology. This modern city, which is also the capital city of Ohio, is the main location base for over 150 technological companies. Many of these companies are large corporations that have smaller regional companies throughout North America.

The COSI Columbus, a science center and learning institute for the sciences, draws a huge number of tourists each year. Columbus offers many things to see and do; enough to keep you busy for a long weekend or even for a week long vacation in the summer.

When you visit Capital Square, you can partake in one of the many tours that are available. More so in case you are interested in politics. If not, then you can go to a German Village and can stroll through an old German neighborhood. On your way back from there and to the hotel you can stop for German Beer at the local bar.

You won't be disappointed if you're an adventure buff looking for adventure in Columbus. Outside of Columbus, in the city of Powell, you can spend a day at Wyandot Lake Adventure Park. You can spend some time at the pool park or ride the waves in the wave pool.

Whether you are traveling with your kids or are kid at heart, the Columbus Zoo is a must see. The zoo often has special events scheduled throughout the year, call ahead to see what is planned, there's always something different happening at the zoo. If you're lucky you'll have a chance to meet some great animals up close and personal, such as the porcupines and anteaters, or discover the many varieties of the local snakes in the area around greater Columbus and throughout Ohio.

The Wilds is another amazing part of the Columbus Zoo. Here you can see wild animals in their natural habitat. Rhinos, zebras, elephants, and monkeys can be seen eating and interacting with each other.

One of the frequently overlooked attractions of Columbus is the Southern Theater, which was started in 1896. This theater has a rich history with many tales to tell. It was part of a large restoration effort to return the theater to its earlier grandeur; it is treated with loving care since it's such an integral part of the history in Columbus. Make sure that you call ahead to see what productions are scheduled during your visit to the city. You don't even have to watch a play to visit the theater and participate in one of the many guided tours that will give you insight into the history of Columbus.

If you like to combine food with your history you might be interested to know that the first Wendy's Restaurant was opened in Columbus. Dave Thomas had his humble beginnings in this city when he started his first Wendy's Restaurant in 1969. You can visit this very first Wendy's and still order a meal.

Planning a trip to Columbus will be well worth the effort. If you find yourself in Columbus on a business trip make sure that you take some time to play. Definitely take in some of the fine dining that can be found in and around Columbus.
